This is a constant occurrence with me then I see on CL that the place is for rent 3 months later. All they care about is fattening their pockets from people that work hard for their $$$. People with $$$ buy property out here and don’t care about their tenants, or keeping the property and apartments in proper living conditions. This is just another example of the horrible Property Management Companies in San Diego. Why the hell would I rent a place I cant afford? This Company should not be in the Property Management business because their customer service is awful, there employees are rude and they say one thing and then it changes soon after. Please somebody tell me how a single man in San Diego with a poor family has the account balances I do if I don’t have a job? So basically the Lady called me a liar to my face. She gave me the run around about my bank account balance saying that I don’t have significant deposits. The Lady in charge of my application got on the phone and was very rude. I waited a day for a call from them about my application regarding if it was approved or not. My bank statement should still have a balance of $ 2, 000 but I withdrew it all cause of the fact that I needed the cash to pay the deposit and rent to any a place that approves me. My account has averaged a balance of $ 1, 000 and at the beginning of September there was a balance of $ 8, 000. I reluctantly sent them 2 ½ months of bank statements. After the fact, she called me and told me I needed to submit bank statements which I don’t like doing cause of the high percentage of fraud these days. Once again she said that it shouldn’t be an issue as long as she can phone verify through my employer. This is my 1 st year of 1099 so I have no way to prove my income through pay stubs. I am a sub-contractor for a small business in San Diego so I am 1099 on taxes. The Lady that showed me the place said my credit shouldn’t be an issue. They took my $ 30 for a credit check even though I had a copy of my credit report which isn’t the greatest because of Student Loans. I did also contact the HOA of the complex as well as the President to let them know about the discrimination so they could inform the owner of the unit how their choice in property management is failing to provide good service.

They can pretend all they want that they are professional but I would NOT recommend this Real Estate company to represent your properties or help you find a place. They discriminated against me and stated that they gave the unit to a more qualified person. I live in a condo in the same complex, however, I am upstairs and was looking for a unit downstairs, I rent from a private owner and knew of the person moving from the unit before it was listed. I was the first to apply for a certain unit, and they lied to me and stated another «couple» had looked at the unit. The emails were very short and even stated - «if you dont leave a message, we dont know that you called” - funny, since I would call them and didnt always leave a message before I would send an email. I have excellent credit– and a well paying job, however once I mentioned that I had a 22 month old child and am a single mother– they stopped answering my calls and only responded to me via email. I am in the market for renting a new place and they were very unhelpful. Overall a great company to do business with. I would definitely rent from them again if I am ever in the market. They were always fair with returning deposits. They keep the lines of communication open via email and phone calls when it comes to repairs to your apartment or the complex in general. The property managers are great about promptly fixing any issues in the apartment.
Both apartments came with a parking spot and rent was significantly lower than comparable apartments in the area, even when my rent was increased a couple times over the years. Also because I had been a previous tenant without a late rent payment, no application or credit check was necessary. I looked at other apartments in the area with different property managers, but this Western Hills was the best apartment for the best price. Giovanna said that they had a one bedroom one bath available on Florida and University. Once my roommate got married and moved out I was on the hunt for a one bedroom. The first apartment I rented was a two bedroom two bath on Hamilton Street for a little over a year. I rented from Western Hills for 3 ½ years at two different properties.
